Shihan has been able to bring out the best in my martial arts training, I have grown so much in the last 7 years that I have been with him. He is patient, kind, intelligent and very capable. My Name is Renshi John Anderson I have been a student and instructor of "Shihan Yoshikazu Nakumura" for 19 years. I can not begin to describe what a privilege and a blessing it has been to receive Shihan's teachings. Shihan is a true martial artist in every way, he lives by and trains true "Budo Spirit".
My journey with Shihan started shortly after I got out of the USMC. I needed something to help me center my life again, after the horrific things I witnessed in the fog of war. I needed something to help me control my anger and physical strength. Shihan made time for me with private classes 2-3 hrs classes 3 times a week. These classes were 9 pm till 11 pm or sometimes later. This is after he taught all day.
I started to realize soon after, things that were weighing heavy on me were fading away. Classes were hard but seemed about 1/2 hour long due to the amount of focus I had to put into the one on one teachings of this great man. My live changed for the better.
A few years later I broke my back at work and my training stopped. Thought I would never walk again, never mind do Martial Arts again. After my recovery I was in pain ever day but life had to go on. I found myself back at Shihan's Dojo and welcomed. I had to learn just about everything all over again, because my body no longer worked the way it use to. I was very frustrated to say the least, the man the Marine I once was, was no longer. So again being the man Shihan is, he worked with me. Pushed me beyond what I ever thought I was ever going to be able to do again. He not only taught me Martial Arts he taught me not to make excuses for what I could not do. Because there is no limit to what our body and mind can do if we strive to make it one. Now years later I am almost pain free in relation to what I was. I am a 6th Degree Renshi Master in Wado-Ryu and a 6th Dan, 3rd Kyu Instructor in Manaka-Ryu Jujutsu. I feel these are not, my accomplishments alone by any means. For if it were not for Shihan and his patients and dedication to me and all his students I would not be the man today.

I first met Shihan Nakamura in Myrtle Beach, when I was looking for a place to train while on vacation. I found him to be a very friendly person, extremely knowledgeable, and a fantastic instructor. The focus of my training with him is on Jujutsu and have started learning Kenjutsu from him. Even though he has since moved back to Japan, I look forward to training with him whenever he comes back to North America. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in training in the martial arts.

Shihan Yoshikazu Nakamura was my instructor for several years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Through his excellent instruction and dedication I was able to achieve Black Belt status in Kendo, Karate and also Jujutsu. When I came to his dojo I knew nothing about Martial Arts, but through the guidance and instruction of Shihan Yoshikazu Nakamura, I excelled and earned my Sensei license to teach Jujutsu. I not only learned the principals of martial arts, but also how to be more self-reliant, patient and calm. He has provided me with skills that will last throughout my lifetime.

I can say without a doubt I am in great physical shape, mental and spiritual growth than I have been in many years. Master Shihan had warn me that I would have more energy and have more endurance than just randomly treadmill and some weight training. He promised me if I continued to work hard and practice, I not only would feel better but have more energy and look great. I am truly experiencing all these positive affects. I have so much energy I not only practice with Master Shihan's , I have taken up more weight lifting and have the energy and desire to be become better and better at all I attempt. My confidence grows daily. He has trained excellent teachers to help with training. Master Shihan cares about your learning techniques well and is excellent with teaching them until you get to your best, which is a constant never ending practice and improvement and a belief in yourself that you can do. He instills this confidence with all his students. I only wish I had met him earlier and began learning what I am now. Although my time is limited at the moment I strive to do my best and will continual to do so.
If you have the opportunity to learn with Master Shihan I would highly recommend it. Work hard, learn all you can and practice hard. In my mind an opportunity of lifetime. I have been working with Master Shihan approximately 2 years. I have a lot more practicing and learning to. I am enjoying every little bit of my training, I love it!
